1. One-Year Mechanical Limited Warranty

Tissa Ung Corp., owner of the LOCKSET4U brand (“LOCKSET4U”), warrants to the original residential purchaser (“Purchaser”) that each LOCKSET4U product (“Product”) will be free from defects in materials and mechanical workmanship under normal residential use for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase (“Warranty Period”).

This Limited Warranty applies only to Products purchased directly from Tissa Ung Corp. or from an authorized LOCKSET4U seller, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

Proof of purchase showing the purchase date and seller may be required to obtain warranty service.

2. What Is Covered

During the Warranty Period, this warranty covers defects in materials or mechanical workmanship affecting the normal operation of the Product, including, as applicable:

  • Deadbolt mechanisms
  • Latch mechanisms
  • Lock cylinders
  • Thumb-turn mechanisms
  • Interior levers or handles
  • Exterior handles and grip mechanisms
  • Other mechanical components supplied as part of the original LOCKSET4U Product

Coverage applies when the Product has been properly installed, maintained, and used for its intended residential purpose.

3. What Is Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage, malfunction, or deterioration resulting from:

  • Improper or incorrect installation;
  • Incorrect door preparation, drilling, backset, door thickness, or mounting-hole dimensions;
  • Misalignment between the door, frame, latch, deadbolt, or strike plate;
  • Door sagging, warping, swelling, settling, or movement of the door or frame;
  • Loose, damaged, or improperly adjusted door hinges;
  • Insufficient depth or incorrect positioning of the latch or deadbolt strike opening;
  • Excessive tightening or improper adjustment of mounting screws;
  • Unauthorized modification, alteration, disassembly, or repair;
  • Misuse, abuse, negligence, accident, or excessive force;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Scratches, dents, chips, or other cosmetic damage occurring after installation;
  • Improper cleaning methods or the use of abrasive cleaners, solvents, chemicals, or harsh cleaning products;
  • Exposure to abnormal environmental conditions, including excessive moisture, salt, chemicals, or corrosive substances;
  • Damage caused by third parties, transportation, construction work, or other conditions outside the reasonable control of LOCKSET4U.

A Product that does not operate correctly because of door or strike-plate alignment is not considered mechanically defective if the Product operates normally when tested with the door open.

4. Finish and Appearance

Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular Product, changes in appearance or finish resulting from normal use, weather, environmental exposure, cleaning, or natural aging are not considered mechanical defects.

Exterior door hardware is exposed to environmental conditions that may cause finishes to change over time. Such changes may include fading, discoloration, patina, spotting, oxidation, or other changes in appearance.

5. Warranty Remedy

If LOCKSET4U determines that a Product contains a defect covered by this Limited Warranty during the Warranty Period, Tissa Ung Corp., at its option, may:

  • Provide troubleshooting or installation assistance;
  • Provide a replacement component or part;
  • Repair the Product where practical; or
  • Replace the defective Product with the same or a reasonably comparable product.

If the original Product or finish is no longer available, LOCKSET4U may provide a reasonably comparable replacement.

Any replacement Product or component provided under this warranty will be covered for the remainder of the original Warranty Period, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

6. Before Making a Warranty Claim

Many lockset operating problems are caused by door alignment or installation rather than a defective lock.

Before submitting a warranty claim, please:

  • Open the door and test the deadbolt, latch, key, thumb-turn, and handle.
  • Confirm that the latch and deadbolt operate smoothly while the door is open.
  • Check that the strike plates are correctly aligned with the latch and deadbolt.
  • Confirm that the latch and deadbolt can fully extend into the door-frame openings without obstruction.
  • Check that the Product is installed for the correct door thickness and backset.
  • Confirm that mounting screws are properly tightened but not overtightened.

If the lock operates correctly while the door is open but becomes difficult to operate when the door is closed, the problem may be related to door or strike alignment rather than a mechanical defect in the Product.

7. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To request warranty service, contact LOCKSET4U Customer Support and provide:

  • Your name and contact information;
  • Proof of purchase;
  • Product model or description;
  • A description of the problem; and
  • Photographs or a short video showing the Product, installation, and reported problem, when reasonably requested for diagnosis.

LOCKSET4U may request additional information reasonably necessary to determine whether the issue is covered by this Limited Warranty.

Do not return or ship a Product unless instructed to do so by LOCKSET4U Customer Support.

8. Authorized Sellers

This Limited Warranty applies to Products purchased directly from Tissa Ung Corp. or from an authorized LOCKSET4U seller, except where otherwise prohibited by applicable law.

LOCKSET4U Products are intended to be sold through authorized sellers that comply with LOCKSET4U quality-control standards and applicable sales policies.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tissa Ung Corp. reserves the right to deny warranty coverage for Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, unauthorized websites, or other unauthorized sources.

9. Limitations

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REMEDIES DESCRIBED ABOVE.

TISSA UNG CORP. SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, TO THE EXTENT SUCH EXCLUSIONS ARE PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified under applicable consumer-protection law.
